N.B. 2013 National Magazine Awards Nominee, “Best Single Issue” for Azure, September 2013.
Austin Macdonald is a Montreal-based freelancer with over 15 years experience in print journalism, advertising copywriting and media arts. He’s even been nominated for a couple of national awards.
He’s the author of “Montreal and Quebec City for Dummies.” His articles on travel, architecture, design, food, restaurants, alternative transportation and off-beat, sports topics have appeared in magazines such as Toronto Life, Azure, Art and Antiques, Canadian Architect, Canadian Interiors and Momentum, and in newspapers, like the Globe and Mail, the National Post, the Montreal Gazette and the Canadian Foodservice News. For the last decade, he edited Jobboom.com’s weekly enewsletter on careers, training and the job market.
Possessing a highly adaptable pen, his copywriting makes clients gush and ad agencies shine (Prométour, Nugen Law, Sun Media, Canoe). He’s an experienced corporate communications specialist too, having worked for the Canadian branch of a rather large foreign bank.
Austin completed a solo video journalism course at The Frontline Club in London and is working on a first documentary project.
